#rsrh Obamaspill Schism?

For once, Anderson Cooper gets it more or less right that when it comes to Obamaspill when he notes that the regular media is not the enemy.

To this administration, the regular media are instead vile and impious heretics, and if they do not like being told that they may not get within 65 feet of any direct evidence of the federal government’s failure to master the spill, well… perhaps they should consider themselves fortunate.  Another age would have them be the centerpiece to an auto de fe for their obstinacy.

Of course, the real question is what the media plans to actually do about this.  If all they want to do is complain like Cooper did above, and not start pushing back against an administration that treats them with largely undisguised contempt, then there’s an argument to be made that the rest of us should pretty much be indifferent.  I’m not relying on these people to tell me what’s going on; are you?  And since I don’t really need them to keep me informed, why should I be concerned about their demonstrated lack of self-respect?

Seriously.  What’s in it for me?  Or you?  I’m getting no use out of the media now.

  1. I believe BP and the Feds are conspiring on PR damage control.

Perhaps Anderson is hoping to gain credibility with Americans. Too bad he doesn’t have the integrity to face up to the reality of this administration’s failure.

  2. Since this is what the Leftists have been clamoring for (a complete government takeover of everything), I am not convinced when they say, ” I’m shocked. Shocked!”

They all want to be one of the tsar’s tsars. They are oblivious to the irony that they’re all Bolsheviks.

  3. Oh, sure. “We’re not your enemy. All we want to do is find out every way the government has botched this situation, and broadcast it to the world.”

How could the Dems possibly have a problem with that?
