  1. Ah, those lyrics “Shooting out the walls of heartache–bang, bang!”. Kinda push it over into the “so bad it’s good” category. Also, Patty Smyth (I assume she’s the lead singer?) is kinda cute. How did she not have way more face time in that video? 🙁

    I’ll nominate Take The L, by the Motels as a bad 80’s song. Sung in the most overwrought manner possible, and featuring more “what, what?” inducing lyrics. Also more big hair and lots of makeup.

  2. I agree with about half the songs on the list, though I still like “We Built This City”. And the opening to “The Final Countdown” makes up for how worthless the rest of the song was, IMO. But how “It’s Raining Men” and “Love Shack” don’t make that list is what needs to be explained to me. (And put the Toni Basil atrocity at #1.)

  3. “Father Figure”. Cracked nailed it–ugh. I waited tables in a dance club in the 80’s. If I never hear “Funkytown” again it will be too soon.
