#rsrh QotD, Is This A Trick Question? Edition.

Glenn Reynolds, on noting that the latest Rasmussen poll has Romney beating Obama by a bit:

[T]he perception is that last week was bad for Republicans and good for the Dems because the Dems succeeded in painting the GOP as a bunch of ugly social-cons. What gives?

At a guess?  The disconnect probably is because, outside a few monocultural urban areas (which happen to be also nexus points for our major media entities) being a social conservative is not particularly socially onerous.  It’s part of the fallout from having a population that identifies two-to-one conservative over liberal.

  1. As a fequenter of at least one woman’s blog, I haven’t noticed a change in opinion amongst most contributors. There are a lot of women that will give lip service to considering the GOP, but they’ll always find a reason to vote D. It is really amazing how for many women abortion/bc/planned parenthood pretty much form their opinion on the political parties. I guess I am saying that many women vote D and only D over “women’s issues” only. Kind of ironic considering how so many women joke about men only thinking of one thing.

  2. It’s like the whole O’Bama second term lock thing, looking at the situation I a President who is in very serious trouble. They see a shoe in. After all no one they know would vote against him.
