…Well. That Mass Effect 3 ending was pretty brutal.

I gather that people were upset by what was a pretty standard metaphysical end to what was, when all was said and done, a traditional space opera.  I am not one of those people; the end that I chose for my Shepard fit her actions and her life, and that’s a fair thing to get from any game.  No complaints.

Regrets, though? Oh, sure, plenty of those.  Starting with at least one NPC death because of something that I did, or more accurately didn’t do.

Moe Lane

PS: “Queen of the Girl Scouts;” saved the geth and the rachni from themselves; cold loathing of mass processing of innocents without their consent.  Guess which ending I picked.

PPS: This game was great. But you have to play the first two to get the real nuances.

  1. Congrats, Moe. Here’s to you:

    Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

    1. Yeah, that may be the song tonight. I do wish that the character had had better options, though (the player was fine).

Dag, I’m getting melancholy over a video game heroine. Well played, Bioware. Well played.
