#rsrh An amusing Chevy Malibu ad FAIL on Kaus Files.

(Via Instapundit) Your unfortunate ad juxtaposition of the day on Kaus Files:

I know that these things are generally auto-generated (if you’ll pardon the pun), but still: an ad bragging about how well your new car line is doing in contests is probably not a good match to a post about how your new car line came in last in a contest.

Plus, this:

you have to wonder if the company would have put environmental correctness over salesmanship if it wasn’t owned in large part by the Obama Treasury Department.

[snip]

This is the sort of issue where unsophisticated people think the company just crudely caves to what it thinks the President wants. More sophisticated people know it’s much more subtle and complex than that. And real insiders think the company crudely caves to what it thinks the President wants.

Ah, sophisticates.

  1. Heh. A friend of mine captured an image of msnbc’s frontpage the day Princess Diana died in a car accident, when it so happened that a banner ad ran right underneath the main story: “Feeling trapped in your old car?”

  2. Go on Car and Driver’s website and see this review for your own self. This “total redesign” did not work out so well for those who review cars for a living, or anyone expecting some real engineering. In fact, it was embarrassing to see.
BTW, the winnah’ was the V W Passat, made in Tennessee. Made By real ‘Muricans, by jingy!
