#rsrh QotD, Where Was This Attitude in ’08? edition. (NSFW)

Don’t get me wrong: I agree with the sentiment expressed by an unnamed McCain staffer today in regard to watching Team Obama trying to do damage control after the President’s disastrous commentary on the private sector – and possibly even more disastrous spin.

“We very much look forward watching Team Romney put Obama’s head in a vice over this,” he emailed “What goes around comes around, assholes.”

…I just want to know why the heck we didn’t see this attitude more, back in the day. And by ‘more’ I mean ‘at all.’

But I’m not bitter!

  1. I am and it’s clear McCain was the ultimate source of his own defeat. He didn’t have the stomach to fight O’bama and as a result the country has suffered.

  2. I believe that if McCain had a different set of advisers, he would have fought harder. That said, he did pick his advisers so he has no one else to blame there. Everyone of them that recommended the hands off-lose with dignity approach should be barred from running Republican elections forever. Total idiots.

  3. There was also the unwillingness to directly oppose the man who was Chosen by Destiny to be America’s First Black President. He was so manifestly awesome, his supporters told us, that the only possible motive for opposing him or even criticizing him would be …
    …wait for it …
    …are you ready? …
    ***RACISM!***

  4. Different campaign. Obama was running in 08 as a cloud, all things to all men, and doing it well in a country that tends to switch parties after eight years. If McCain had acted like this, he would have just looked mean spirited. But Obama couldn’t vote “present” as President. No more cloud, and Romney knows it……

  5. “If McCain had acted like this, he would have just looked mean spirited.”

So McCain chose to take a dive.
