#rsrh New Romney Video: What Happened?

Ever get the feeling that the current President didn’t really understand that EVERYTHING THAT OBAMA’S EVER SAID could come back to haunt him?

Of course, it’s entirely possible that Barack Obama still doesn’t get it: apparently he thinks that his biggest mistake so far as President was not talking enough.

“When I think about what we’ve done well and what we haven’t done well,” the president said, “the mistake of my first term – couple of years – was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right. And that’s important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times.”

So… when was the President planning to start getting the policy right? – Because right now he kind of sucks at it.

  1. It’s almost like a man with no record before running for President doesn’t know what a record is… fancy that.

  2. You know, the President is almost onto something with his self-assessment of his first term. He didn’t talk enough. Oh, he talked at, but he didn’t talk to or talk with.

Liberals are treating Romney’s NAACP speech as suspect. ‘What must be his REAL motive?’ I am not so sure that they’re being disingenuous. It shows so plainly the stark contrast between the many Republicans who make their pitches in hostile territory. Who evangelize, not lecture. Who take voters who disagree with them seriously. Susana Martinez of NM is another who comes to mind. After that I’m sure I could assign a bunch of names.

In contrast. the president can only show a great blank. Obama would never walk into the lion’s den, show respect to an American organization on the other side of the aisle, and make his pitch sincerely, straight, without pandering.

Of course, it may be that it’s impossible to do this if you don’t really have principles and respect for people who differ from you. But I’ll give my president the benefit of the doubt and instead suggest that it might just be laziness or cowardice that prevented him from trying to communicate with about half the country.
