The Unintentionally Viral Chick-fil-A Drive-thru Schmuck video.

(Via AoSHQ) I’m in an airport bar right now – shaddap, I’m on vacation – so let me make this brief: see this video? (If you can’t, it was a YT video of a self-appointed crusader for same-sex marriage filming himself being a complete schmuck to a Chick-fil-A drive-thru cashier.)

THIS IS WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY ‘YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG.  First rule of activism: You know that guy? Yeah, that guy. Well, don’t be that guy.

I could teach a class on How Not To Do It, using only that video as a bad example.

  1. “I’m going to be a jerk to you because I don’t like what your employer does.”

There is some desperately tortured logic in there, yearning to breathe. Or escape.

  2. Mr. Weimer, it seems like mr. Smith’s resume has been taken down. I wonder if it was because it needed to be updated, IYKWIM.

  3. Stand With Arizona did the internet detective thing and screencapped all the stuff Mr. Smith thought was safely taken down. They are encouraging people to POLITELY make his employers aware of what a poor example of PR he’s being for them. They’re also encouraging people to contact the manager of the young lady’s store and let him/her know what a great job she did dealing with the schmuck – and is there anything they can do for her?

  4. Yet another great example of how irony challenged liberals can be.

I’m sure Chick-fil-a donates to a number of organizations with a wide set of beliefs. It’s so easy to cherry pick a few you don’t agree with and deem them “hateful” and now you suddenly have a perfect excuse to be hateful right back. And yet I’m quite certain he felt like he was still holding the moral high ground because he was sticking up for [insert victimolgy group here]. Despite that if in fact you are so disgusted by the notion of hate then by extension one would assume you would avoid being hateful yourself. But that is a Christian notion that I’m certain doesn’t exist within the secularist mind.

  5. Wot an ass. She handles herself well considering this jerk was looking for an argument. This is a loser issue for the lefties but they don’t seem to realize how many folks are offended by their complete rejection of a competing viewpoint. This, it seems, may be the beginning of a preference cascade where the good and decent majority finally speaks out against being demonized for having a prinicpled disagreement.
