#rsrh I was unaware that Massachusetts was a swing state this year.

Actually, I know that, yeah, Bookworm Room here is just messing with the Democrats by suggesting that Lizzy Warren is their only hope:

The only “young” gun they’ve got is Elizabeth Warren.  She’s struggling to stay above water in Massachusetts, but Democrats might see her as someone who can revive the base if she’s on the presidential ticket.  After all, when it comes to “You didn’t build that,” she and Obama are two minds with but a single thought.  Better an exciting candidate on the presidential ticket than a struggling candidate for a senate seat that’s already filled by a fairly popular, attractive RINO.

…but s/he has a point; the Democratic bench is so awful this cycle that Warren is the closest thing that they have left to a viable replacement Veep candidate.  Which is not a compliment towards Warren: she’s actually pretty terrible.  Besides, this way I can cause trouble with that title.

PS: Folks, come on, be nice to Scott Brown.  He’s not going out of his way to antagonize us and his mere presence in the Senate is driving the Left out of their collective mind.  And the Left gets even more frustrated when we smile and shrug about the issue…

  1. Hey, I *like* Scott Brown. He’s a heck of a lot better than Dick Durbin! (D-IL, a.k.a. “Eddie Haskell”)

  2. I figure he may not be a reliable vote EXCEPT for determining who controls the Senate.

  3. Oh — and his occupation of the “Kennedy Seat” is delicious, too. Maybe he’ll be able to bring some honor back to that office.

  4. I am not a big Scott Brown fan. He is a pretty big Rino after all. But gosh yea, just getting under the Dem’s skin with him holding the seat has a real nice feeling to it. I sent him $10 as encouragement.

Besides, he will vote for Republican leadership in the Senate and not for Democrats. That in itself is worth it.

  5. Didn’t Massachusetts vote for Reagan?

Maybe Moe’s right and they *are* in play …

  6. Well, Romney was the governor of Massachusetts, so maybe it is. The combination of Romney and Brown on the ticket might just have Massachusetts go Republican this year. *crosses fingers*

  7. Acat: I would love to trade Dick Durbin for Scott Brown. Can’t we treat this like the sports big leagues and trade for who we want?

Someday, we in Illinois will figure out how to dump Dick. I know it’s my dream but a girl’s gotta hope for something you know.

  8. Living in Massachusetts, I can tell you Mitt Romney will NOT take the state. I was a huge supporter of his when he ran for Governor. When he won, I was so happy, I was tearing up. His hands were tied with a State Senate/House run by Democrats. He should have focused on building the Republican Party in Mass. Instead, he focused like a laser beam on becoming President of the United States. A LOT of his supporters are still burned over what he did here in Massachusetts. In all honesty, he abandoned the state. And all of the above is from a SUPPORTER of his. He was a lousy governor. He was only using it as a stepping stone to what he’s doing now. Honestly…he’ll be LUCKY to get 40-45% in this state. Republicans in this state are not big fans of Mitt Romney. Scott Brown, however, is very, very popular. He is like the Anti Mitt. Personable and a real guy. He is very, very well liked by all in the state…..
