…This Avatar: the Last Airbender series is so good…

…so far that I’m having trouble figuring out why it wasn’t canceled after a single season.  It’s like the writers HATE the Idiot Plot, like the idea of using visual cues to allow you to keep track of what’s going on, and think that ‘subtle’ is preferable to ‘beat you over the head’ when it comes to revealing things.

I’m pretty sure that all of the above violates union rules, or somethin.

  1. I will admit to having dismissed it when it was new as a western “me too” anime clone. I will also admit to being totally wrong to do so. By far the most entertaining and enjoyable cartoon of the last 20 years.

  2. I keep seeing people recommend this show. People I respect. I thought it was just some kiddie cartoon on Nickelodeon. Maybe it’s time to check out Avatar. (The cartoon, I mean, not “James Cameron Presents Dances with Smurfs.”)

  3. I love this cartoon. Love watching it with my kids. My kids watched all of the sequel series as well, I’ve only caught a couple episodes though.

I’m much higher on M. Night Shyamalan than most people I know, But the Avatar: The Last Airbender live action movie was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was so angry afterwards because he murdered a great story.

    1. ANd by “love”, I mean it’s the best kid’s cartoon series I’ve ever watched. Yes, better than my romantisized memory of the classics like Transformers, GI Joe, Voltron, Thunder Cats, and Duck Tails. GI Joe is the closest in my fuzzy memory.
