Oh, how entertaining: the Democratic Underground poster nctraveler who started a wide, rolling wave of contemptuous online mockery in response to his/her baffled discovery that his/her take-home pay was reduced has deleted his/her original post and had the thread locked. Alas, the Internet is forever: Hayride took a screenshot.
Well, many people took screenshots, no doubt, but the Hayride was the first site that I saw (via Instapundit) that did. Anyway, for those who can’t see the picture, here’s a transcript of nctraveler’s original comment:
What happened that my SS withholdings in my paycheck just went up.
My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don’t feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease will hurt me more than the increase in income taxes will hurt those making over $400,ooo.
