You know, @barackobama, RICHARD NIXON would have loved secret emails.

He would have thought the idea was shiny.

Some of President Barack Obama’s political appointees, including the Cabinet secretary for the Health and Human Services Department, are using secret government email accounts they say are necessary to prevent their inboxes from being overwhelmed with unwanted messages, according to a review by The Associated Press.

The scope of using the secret accounts across government remains a mystery: Most U.S. agencies have failed to turn over lists of political appointees’ email addresses, which the AP sought under the Freedom of Information Act more than three months ago. The Labor Department initially asked the AP to pay more than $1 million for its email addresses.

Although Nixon would have blanched at the idea of trying to get a million bucks out of the Associated Press in the process.  I mean, that’s just stupid.  And, whatever else you can say about Nixon, you can say this: the man wasn’t stupid.

  1. While you’re right, Moe, that Nixon wasn’t stupid .. he does seem to share the same knack for personnel with Obama.

The difference, of course, is that Choomy McKillChildren *is* stupid .. or at least dangerously non-curious.

      1. No surprise. I will never understand why normally-fairly-red Kansas voted for her. Was Shallenburger really *that* bad?

        1. “Does the President support Kathleen Sebelius’ decision to allow a 10 year old to die?” – that should be like one of the 1st questions for Jay Carney…

          1. The trouble with that, of course, is that it plays straight to the left’s single-payer lies…

        2. Some of the Liberal Islanders of Lawrence, Kansas hope she will run against Brownback. They call Brownback extremist and have nicknamed Kansas “Brownbackistan” but I sincerely wish Sebelius would try to run in Kansas and finally end her political career. She somehow managed to fool moderate Republicans she was herself a moderate. And that branch of the GOP in Kansas has had a beef with conservatives for quite some time which is why Jim Ryun lost in 06. Its also why Bob Dole is cranky

  2. Ah, the old “public email address” conundrum. I know how to fix this and am willing to share the secret for a modest fee. Or they could explain the problem to their own IT geeks and listen to the advice they give you.

In other words, this explanation is complete BS.

The House should put forth a bill that says taking a executive level position in the Government automatically adds any private email addresses or messaging systems to the FOIA system. I bet all of the sudden the politicians will rediscover the meaning of email privacy…
