I like to point out that John Mellencamp is from southern Indiana– a very different place from northern Indiana, which gave us Axl Rose and Shannon Hoon anong others.
I don’t know why, but I remember this song and the MTV sweepstakes where you would win a house in his hometown and a party where you would paint the house; pink of course.
MTV was doing stuff like that all the time back then.
