I know, I know: I’m a horrible person for asking that.  But it is an absolutely fascinating question to ask, yes?

  1. Well this is a political blog. If it is Biden, Hagan, or anyone under cabinet-level, then I would consider it insulting. If President Obama was smart, then he would go himself.

    1. Quibble. Given his behaving like a freshman at his first frat party at the Mandela memorial, I would say it’s not Obama’s brain but his self-control (or, rather, lack thereof) that’s the problem.

      That said, I do hope he goes himself, for the above reasons. More selfies and inappropriate flirting would be great for 2014.

  3. Obama goes if he thinks it is politically expedient to go, ie, if he gets to give a speech or have a photo-op with some down-trodden Palestinians. He doesn’t go because it is the decent and right thing to do.

    1. He goes if media starts harping on Obamacare or any of the other Jan-1 laws or otherwise thinks it gets him away from answering questions.
