  1. Perspective it’s for more than just works of art. Also the universe doesn’t care if your disappointed, it’s kind of funny that way.

  2. What gets me more than anything is the inflated sense of self-worth. Whatever this woman thinks the problems in Israel are, she thinks that “we could have stopped them” by virtue of a university student council resolution.

Seriously, I was pretty idealistic as a youth as well, but I think I always recognized the impotence of a resolution.

    1. When was young, I told certain of my peers that when an older cohort objected to violent messes overseas, they went and fought in the bloody Spanish Civil War.

The event in question was about something that would have needed infantry to do squat, and nobody was proposing a viable plan to get infantry there and in action.
      .
The folks who say something must be done about this or that sadly ordinary atrocity are often also the sorts who would object to seeing an infantry solution.

  3. We need to find out this racist girl’s name, and just ruin her future. I know that this seems harsh, but if it’s one lesson I will take from Ender’s Game*, is that you need to win future fights at the same time. You’ve got to keep fighting until they just stop moving.

*Just saw the movie. I give it 7.5 out of 10. It did not have the tension the book had and the acting was a little muted, but an overall satisfying movie and adoption.

    1. HRC did it after prop 8. Somehow they got a hold of the donor list for the people supporting prop 8 and started outings, protest and boycotts.

  4. TIL that UCLA can’t mic up a meeting to save their lives. Though apparently she was just taking notes.

Seriously, I cranked the sound up on my laptop and all I could hear was a bunch of f-bombs and a few “we could have stopped it”.

  5. Just in passing, it should be noted that it is almost certain that she and her compatriots hate us as much as they hate Jews.

So I will second BigGator5’s motion.

    1. And no one reached over to comfort her? My guess is they’ve seen crazy stuff from her before.

  6. What strikes me is that this is exactly the sort of tantrum (well, not the subject matter, but the actions provoked) one would expect of a 4 year old child, right down to the foot kicking.

    .

I’d be willing to bet she’s gotten her way (at home, at least) by doing this her whole life. Not an excuse, but her parents did her no favors raising her.

  7. When I was in college one of our Dean’s was eaten by a pet pot bellied pig the student council had given him a couple years earlier. The theory was that the hungry pig knocked him down when he went to feed it, he hit his head and was rendered unconscious and the pig did what pigs do when there is something edible under their nose. No one acted like this then and I would hate to see just how badly she would react to something like that. It would be truly Epic though.
