Barack Obama is messing up by the numbers when it comes to the border crisis.

The White House is making a very bad mistake when it comes to their attitude towards the border, as witnessed by this interview snippet featuring DEMOCRATIC Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas. Background is, somebody from the White House called to complain to Cuellar about his call for the White House to do more about the current border crisis.

“Who called you?” [Fox & Friends] host Brian Kilmeade asked.

“We’ll just leave it like that,” Cuellar responded.

“Did they tell you to pipe down?” Kilmeade pressed again.

“We’ll just leave it like that,” the congressman repeated. “But notice what I’m doing: I’m still talking about it.”

Rep. Cuellar is kind of a mixed bag on the issues generally, but he is not an immigration hardliner.  The administration should have gone into full crisis mode the moment the Congressman made clear that he wouldn’t be providing useful cover to Barack Obama on this one.  That they did not… doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.  Frankly, Barack Obama is not as good at domestic policy as his opponents think that he is, let alone his supporters.

PS: Oh, to be a fly on the wall for this conversation between Obama and Texas Governor Rick Perry.  Dagnabbit, if only Perry was ten years younger (I do think that he’s learned the proper lessons from the last campaign, actually).

PS: Hot Air reminds of us of the President’s priorities.

…I got nothing.

  1. Need I point out that the sudden appearance of a horse’s whether attached to the horse or not has traditionally been considered a bad omen.

  2. Obama recognized his soul mate, the one who would complete him, the one who would make him whole, the perfect match for his horse’s ass.
