Your reminder from Unka Moe, kids: If a story’s too good to be true…

…or too bad to be true, then it probably isn’t.  Hell of a month journalism has had, huh?  I’m surprised that they haven’t decided to chuck it all up and move to Tahiti.

PS: Yes, I’m letting them down relatively easy.  I’ve been burned by fake stories, myself.  But, say, Rolling Stone needs to accept the fact that it isn’t any good at regular journalism.

  1. When the facts are wrong odds are the who;e story is a piece of junk. Hope the Frat sues RS into the ground. The whole we don’t report news we tell a story crap is BS.

  2. When did people *start* taking RollingStone as serious journalism? They always seemed, to me, to rank slightly above People and TMZ in tone and credibility.

    1. Probably about the same time Jon Stewart became a serious news source. And hey, they don’t look that bad in comparison to the NYT/WaPo these days…

  3. Even after being proven false, the story will still be believed by many.
    .
    It was only a little over an election cycle ago that the “War on Women” meme allowed Obama to coast to re-election.
    Despite most of the touted evidence being fabricated or ludicrous.
