‘Drawing Honey Lemon From Big Hero 6 Disney.’

I found this surprisingly engrossing:

Possibly because Honey Lemon was possibly my favorite super-heroine in Big Hero 6 (which you really must see, at your first opportunity).  No spoilers, but I liked the idea behind her particular abilities. As to the drawing itself… alas, it’s too far beyond my own skill level to properly assess.  Looks like her, to be sure.

  1. She was the only one in the whole movie who attempted to pronounce Hiro’s name correctly. It felt kinda condescending? Not a slam, just an observation. She had a classically Californian Hippy vibe working. I was predisposed to hate her, but I just couldn’t. Same could be said for the film. So many ways it could have been awful, but it did nearly everything right and stuck the landing. Couldn’t ask much more from it than that.

    1. Oddly enough, her pronouncing Hiro’s name in the Japanese manner was coincidental. Her voice actress said she wanted to give Honey Lemon an Hispanic vibe, so she used the Spanish tapped R and non-diphthongal O every now and then. I had thought it odd that she was pronouncing Hiro’s name in the Japanese manner at the time…that seemed to be the only place I was picking up on the accent.
