I can tell you EXACTLY what @freddiedeboer can do. (Language warning)

Frederik deBoer can be ripped apart by his own faction for writing this (language warning):

Jon Chait is an asshole. He’s wrong. I don’t want these kids to be more like Jon Chait. I sure as hell don’t want them to be less left-wing. I want them to be more left-wing. I want a left that can win, and there’s no way I can have that when the actually-existing left sheds potential allies at an impossible rate. But the prohibition against ever telling anyone to be friendlier and more forgiving is so powerful and calcified it’s a permanent feature of today’s progressivism. And I’m left as this sad old 33 year old teacher who no longer has the slightest fucking idea what to say to the many brilliant, passionate young people whose only crime is not already being perfect.

…and perhaps he might, in his last metaphorical moments (after all, Mr. deBoer is not actually about to be ripped apart by Maenads) reflect that perhaps he chose unwisely when it came to his basic ideological operating paradigm. Or perhaps he might not. Not really my problem, either way.

PS: Strictly speaking, it was not cruel of me to RedHot this. The man asked for responses from the Left, did he not? No reason not to make sure that the Lefties that obsessively monitor RedState’s front page see his request.

PPS: God, I am so glad to be out and away from that crap.

  1. I had two reactions: first, amusement at the corner the Left has painted itself into here; second, mockery that someone who goes to Purdue doesn’t know how to spell Terre Haute.

  2. I agree with Finrod over the laughter at the results that the Left is getting from encouraging their belly-achers. It is exhausting – and immobilizing – to stay alert every moment and wonder if “Good morning,” is going to be considered a micro-aggression against those who are at their best after lunch; not offering a greeting will be offensive to those who are raring to go first thing, or if saying “Hello,” instead is going to traumatize those who are naturally shy….

    1. Ah, one of the bits of political genius the Left has used so well. The “9/11 widows”, Sandra Fluke, etc, etc, etc. Good and sane people do not like to mock people in pain (Even when they are lashing out and hurting people), which is what needs to be done to stop this. (Very likely the reason the Left has worked so hard to make sure all their crusades are based on Fraud. Be a heck of a thing if you started reacting to your own propaganda! Alas, how in the heck to you pass THAT on to your useful idiots?)

  3. at one point the original Bedlam Asylum was open for tours, so everyday folks could come gawk at the inmates. now the craziness is visible to all on the net or at any college campus. progress?

“i was scared but i couldn’t admit it,
    hatred planted out of fear.”

    1. Well, in theory anyway, the craziness on college campuses is conscious and voluntary, and might respond at some point to the big stick of reality.
