It’s bad when you look at a seven day forecast…

…like this:

weather

And then you say “HEY, WOW, THAT’S GREAT!” I mean, shoot, at this rate on Sunday I’ll be ready to go hit the pool.  And I mean literally hit the pool: any water that’s still in there (I assume that the property managers drain it every year) isn’t going to melt in a single day of just-above-freezing.

Spring can’t come quickly enough, at this point.  Or, shoot, a runaway greenhouse effect. As many people have noted: the nice thing about greenhouses is that they’re hot*.

*Also, wet.  Which is why we grow things in them.

  1. Out west, up by the 45th parallel, we’ve been having an unseasonably mild stretch.
It’s only this week that the lows have fallen back below freezing. But most days, it’s still getting up into the 60s for a high.
I’ve hardly had to wear a coat for a month.

😉 Inflict Frozen tunes on us, and this is what you get.
But who knows? Maybe an act of true love will take place in Dizzy City, and this inclement weather will disappear like magic.

  2. Saturday it is supposed to hit the mid twenties. I want to get my car washed so bad.

(P.S. the USCG and CCG icebreakers are having another devil of a winter keeping the Great Lakes open so that the coal deliveries arrive. Last year, for some of the plants, was a pretty close run thing and by close run I mean ‘four weeks left on the coal piles’. This stuff isn’t funny whether you are on a breaker, a freighter, in a utility, or in a state regulatory agency – budgets and rates are affected no matter what the clowns lobbying in Ottawa or Washington want to say.)

  3. Two nights ago it was -12 here.

    Sunday night’s forecast says -11.

I’m not a Global Warming Denialist. I’m a Global Warming Pessimist.

The AGW blowhards are just taunting us. Why should I fight against warming just so they can stay balmy?

Going out now to light multiple campfires burning the most carbon-saturated wood I can find.

    Pray for global warming!
