Run, Mike Bloomberg, run!

I would pay money to see this.

A dirty secret behind Hillary Clinton’s lead in the Democratic presidential race is the lack of a credible challenger. Despite rising voter disgust over sordid revelations about the Clinton Foundation, there is no appealing alternative. The situation led some disgruntled Democrats to push Sen. Elizabeth Warren to run, an effort that folded yesterday. But now comes word of a bid to entice another big-name challenger, and this one is far more intriguing.

It aims to get former Mayor Michael Bloomberg into the race.

The gun thing will absolutely wreck him in the general election, of course.  But it would just as absolutely make him golden with the Democratic base, and that’s the (heh) primary consideration.

  1. Oh, this would be great on several levels ..
    .
Bloomberg is older, whiter, and more of a born-to-it 1%er than Romney ever was ..
    .
Should he get traction, I shall shove him down various throats .. with relish!

    1. Bloomberg would probably be able to lose Vermont and Maine, not to mention New Hampshire. Democrats tend to be very quiet when it comes to gun control ( they still push for it, but they do so as inconspicuously as possible)
Bloomberg might even be able to make NY sort of competitive ( Upstate probably hates his guts)
