You may have noticed that I haven’t really talked about the Benghazi hearing.

That’s for basically one reason: in some ways it does not matter what was said. We all knew already that Hillary Clinton planned to obfuscate, prevaricate, insinuate, and all the other -ates out there in her quest to avoid admitting the self-evident truth that, yeah, she was an awful Secretary of State who got people killed for no good reason.  This was baked in the cake.

The point of this hearing was for her to talk, and talk, and talk some more, and get it all down in the transcript. Once that’s done, we will go through the testimony, look at her other testimony, note discrepancies, note peculiarities; and then eventually somebody will get charged with perjury. Because that’s how you get people: perjury.  It’s how they got Scooter Libby and Martha Stewart, after all.

Hey, I didn’t make this ruleset…

  1. As I recall perjury got Bill Clinton’s law license suspended. Runs in the family?

  2. I think we’ve established that the Democratic party really doesn’t care about perjury.
    They care about destroying Republicans.
It’s not at all the same thing, and they’ll back her to the hilt.

      1. How is this not exactly what they were doing in the 1870s and 1880s?
        .
It isn’t healthy, but it isn’t necessarily immediately fatal.

Things are bad, but they aren’t as bad as they have been in the past.

  3. I thought she approached the hearings like the interview portion of the Miss America pageant. How she can be so arrogant in the face of her tragic personal failures is shocking to me.

    1. … because the alternative is what, suicide?
      .
      Everybody lies. (G. House, M.D.**)
      .
Some lie only in small ways, some take “the big lie” as a personal life directive.
      .
Hillary lies like a lawyer .. both cleverly and baldly .. and neither are good arguments *to me* for letting her have any authority over any other persons ever.

** Fictitious person, so .. himself a lie.

      1. I’d never encourage anyone to commit suicide, but she should have the decency to realize she has no business being President. She has no humility whatsoever, and if we are going to elect her President, than that is the best argument for shrinking power of Presidency and Washington than anyone I can think of. She is not fit.

        1. So .. here’s the key question.
          .
Given what Western Civilization went through to beat down tribalism and enforce the rule of law in the first place .. how bad do you think things have to get before a majority in this country see the process for what it is, corruption of rule of law and restoration of tribal politics?

          1. I can’t say for sure that there is a guarantee we will get back there, many people think that despite all her issues (and often with full knowledge of them) voting for Hillary is the moral thing to do. They are completely off the deep end. Only just now have I come to the reality that much of the left’s motivation for govt cradle to grave benefits arises from their own selfishness. They’ll always like Obamacare, because it means they don’t have to worry about the poor. They are genuinely indifferent to those that are having bad outcomes due to this law that bring on real health risks.

They don’t understand that their desire to take my paycheck is every bit as (and really much more) selfish as my desire to keep it. They have little respect for people that perform their own acts of charity because they want to decides who gets the $$. They don’t like religion because they want to dictate what our belief systems should be based on their rules. They decide that their should be “special” rights for certain victim groups in a bid to take away the rights of the rest of us. Once you start creating special rights based on victim status the rest of us are at risk of losing ours.

I have no idea what it would take or when it would change where people opt for a lawful society, based on equal rights and justice for all. I figure the catalyst might be Islamic terrorism. But the reality is that things are changing so fast where people are making huge changes to major parts of our lives without regard to the consequences that maybe people will get fed up. Common Core, Obamacare, illegal immigration/sanctuary cities are all making people angry and having big effects on our lives.

I can’t really answer your question, but as you can see I can do a lot of talking. This was done on my phone. Typos are regrettable, but I have a hard time controlling them.

          2. Yep. I smell a point, in the near future, that future historians will mark as “significant” ..
            .
My concern is .. I really don’t see islamists as an existential threat to the U.S. .. not that I doubt they hate us or wish us to die in a grease fire, but .. seriously, a cultural group stuck in 6th century “if allah wills it” mysticism isn’t gonna get the physics required…
            .
Therefore, if Russia does not go full-metal-adventurist .. there *isn’t* enough of a threat out there.

        2. If you count Civil War deaths as caused by criminal acts of the Democratic Party, the Muslims haven’t killed near as much as the Democrats have.
          .
The left has a vaguely eugenics flavored dream of killing a bunch of Americans. They could be trying to kick start an internal slaughter, on the assumption that they get to decide who will get the cut in the end.

          1. Are you counting all Muslim-related deaths back to 400AD ?
            .
Because if you’re going to go all long-memory on one group, you owe the other the same courtesy, and .. the Dems go back to what, the 1700s?
            .
            Mew

          2. Thanks.
            .
Correction: The Muslims haven’t killed near as many /Americans/ as the Democrats have.
