Day Five of the 7th Sea 2nd Edition Kickstarter / wife’s birthday pledge drive.

goal-thermometer-newIt’s looking pretty good, obviously. At this rate I’m trying to figure out when’s the best time to tell my wife that she’s getting this gift. ย On the one hand, her birthday’s not for months. On the other hand, I assume that she’d want to be the one who does the actual write-up (my wife is no slouch herself when it comes to writing RPG material), so she’d want plenty of time to do the text for the 7th Sea writeup. And on the gripping hand… well, she’ll see the charge on the credit card bill anyway.

So, obviously I don’t have to decide this today, but I should probably figure out when to tell her soon. Maybe if I actually hit a grand itself while the drive is going on…

Button, as usual, below.

  1. I think a Simpsons quote can tell you the answer on what to tell your wife the charge is for.

Agent: Now, before I give you the check, one more question. This place “Moe’s” you left just before the accident. This is a business of some kind?
Homer: [thinks] Don’t tell him you were at a bar! Gasp! But what else is open at night?
[aloud] It’s a pornography store. I was buying pornography.
[thinks]Heh heh heh. I would’a never thought of that.

    Thank you, Mr. Plow.

  2. Having played in your games and in hers, and knowing you both… you could possibly make it *work* without telling her, but she’d never *forgive* you. She will be happy to accept “I got you a cool present, and lots of our friends helped”, as long as she gets a copy of the actual sourcebook. I contributed, BTW. ๐Ÿ™‚
