Quote of the Day, Thank God There Was No Social Media in 1994 edition.

This is so, so true – if you define ‘Internet’ as ‘social media.’ God knows that there’s an AOL profile or two that I’m glad has long since died the True Death:

The best thing about being over 40 is that we did all our stupid stuff before the invention of the Internet, so there’s no proof.

I think that I’ve said this in the past, but let me say it again: if you are under the age of 25 or so, the smartest thing that you can do with your life is to delete every single social media account that you own and stay far away from all of them until you are 25.  I can think of any number of promising careers that have been blighted because the picture that was so absolutely hysterical when you were 18 turns out to be not so funny when you’re 29 and competing for a particular job.  It’s already too late for anybody over 25, of course: but if a college student ever reads this, I’m being absolutely serious.  Sanitize your online presence NOW.  Because eventually somebody who doesn’t like you will get their hands on it.
