I came to Steely Dan late. This is one of my favorites. It has that perfect 70’s NY sound.
Hard to go wrong with Steely Dan. I mean, I can’t think of a bad song by them. Some are, of course better than others. 😉
My first real awareness of them was “FM” when the movie came out. Just great sog after great song, and it mostly isn’t the kind of thing I would normally be listening to, but Fagen and Becker are just magical together.
Fagen solo is a bit more kitch, but very listenable.

It could’ve been 15 minutes long, and it would still be a wonderfully listenable track.
I went to one of their concert in LA a couple of years back. Fagen’s voice isn’t as great as before, but the show is still a blast. The boys always knows how to put together a great band.
It’s just that kind of a song, isn’t it?
