Would this qualify as an Exploitation flick? The forced sex change angle is not entirely new, screwball comedies from the 80’s did that a number of times (although usually through fantasy means), and there was a horror film recently that used it as well, but as the premise of a revenger it’s probably novel. It crosses my “ick” threshold though, so I’ll leave it for others. 😛
*shrugs* Two birds with one stone. The latest “edgy” social frontier, while still cashing in on the Xena & GrrrlPower tropes. They’d never get away with going the other direction. My guess is they’re hoping enough Stereotypical Action Jocks will chose a hot Michelle Rodrigues at face{and etc…} value over what…she/he/ohnevermind is portraying.
This is absolutely an exploitation flick. And you’re gonna see the eventual thermal bloom on this one from orbit.
