I’m surprised that Larry Niven and Steven Barnes’ Dream Park hasn’t made the list yet. It pushes the right buttons: near-future, filk singing, and LARPing as a competitive sport. Good stuff, good stuff. And the sequels don’t suck, either.
And so, adieu to The Deed of Paksenarrion.
A great read; I had not realized that there was more than one sequel. Thanks.
I must look into this.
I missed you having ‘The Deed of Paksenarrion’ up as botw. Good books, those. The follow ups weren’t as good, (more about the principle supporting characters from the originals) but are also worth reading.
That was a fun one. I’ve even got R. Talsorian’s Dream Park RPG. Never played it, but it allows players to play players in the Dream Park setting.
