“Poetry”: IA! IA! IA-IA!

I could have been doing something useful today.  Instead…

IA IA IA-IA – Google Docs

IA! IA! IA-IA!

Chorus

IA! IA! IA-IA!

Your wife says your Saltes aren’t essential;

So sing us another verse

That’s worse than the other verse

And drive us some more into madness.

A girl living down Innsmouth way
Would promenade out on the quay;
In those hot, squamous summers
She’d take on all comers;

Plus dolphins, on every Sunday.

IA! IA! IA-IA!

The Mi-Go have mixed up your… organs;

So sing us another verse

That’s worse than the other verse

And drive us some more into madness.

Now Asenath Waite was a girl —

Though she certainly acted the churl

To her put-upon hubby

Who ended up blubby:

‘Cuz it wasn’t his hair that she’d curl.

IA! IA! IA-IA!

Your family nickname is ‘rugose.’

So sing us another verse

That’s worse than the other verse

And drive us some more into madness.

The stars turned right early today,

So the Old Ones came down here to play.

But they had a good oogle

At the sights you can Google;

Which why they ran, screaming, away.

IA! IA! IA-IA!

The shantaks all think you’re their daddy;

So sing us another verse

That’s worse than the other verse

And drive us some more into madness.

    1. Kansas. “Dust in the Wind”.
      .
      Guaranteed to knock any other song out of your head.
      .
      Of course .. that’s because “Dust in the Wind” is the kind of earworm that sticks for *days* .. so if you’re not already humming it ..
      .
      You are?
      .
      Sorry. Very sorry.
      .

      1. I pray that someday, I am the Agent of Poetic Justice the two of you so richly deserve.
