My Ant-Man and the Wasp mini-review.

Short version: It Did Not Suck.  It was funny.  It ratcheted back some of the tension that we got from Infinity War.  You will have a good time, assuming that you haven’t seen it yet.

Somewhat longer version: Ant-Man and the Wasp was good! It has a good, solid cast, the trailers didn’t give the whole thing away, there were a lot of things to laugh at, and it embraces the fact that it’s a comic book movie. The kids should be fine with it; there were a bunch in the theater, and none of them seemed traumatized or anything. I kind of like how the plots to the Ant-Man films aren’t world-shattering; they’re just goofy fun.  This was goofy fun that tried to remember what it was like to play with Hot Wheels and stuff.  Worth going to go see.

PS: The kid was pitch-perfect.

  1. The MCU needed something to mitigate the tension of Infinity War (not that I disliked it, or was surprised). It wasn’t “pure” popcorn. But it was a good, uncomplicated heist flick.
