The interesting thing about this Aquaman trailer?
Everything in it was in the original, pretty much. But I didn’t think so until I watched both again,because the American Aquaman trailer is about a dude who is in self-imposed exile from the land of one of his parents until he’s needed to come to them and set things right, despite the fact that he doesn’t really think that he’s got what it takes to be a proper king. The Japanese Aquaman trailer is about OH MY GOD THESE DUDES HAVE RIDING SHARKS AND FISH-DINOSAURS AND THERE’S BLACK MANTA WITH THE EYE BEAMS AND FORGET ORM THERE’S GONNA BE THIS BIG HONKING FISH BATTLE.
I can’t help but think that the Japanese trailer may have more of a point about what we should care about.
