1. Ok, this is not about Magenta, (can anything be about magenta if magenta does not exist?) but I thought you’d be interested.

2. I was about to comment “poppycock” (or a less-friendly variation of it). Of course the color /exists/. They’re being cute with a clickbait title. Using their definition, white doesn’t “exist”, either. That’s like saying electrum doesn’t exist, because it’s not on periodic table.

3. From my daughter the physicist:
    
   They’re incorrect. Magenta is a primary color when mixing (pigment). For light it is a combination of colors (red and blue). But so is yellow a non-primary light color and yet no one says yellow doesn’t exist.

   1. In other words, magenta is a band stop filter. Just because there is no monochrome magenta light does not stop it from being real.
      .
      That said, aliens would probably be completely confused by our color theory.
