  1. Maybe I am just not cynical enough, but I have a hard time casting the committee in a negative light. I can see the hooks to do so, but I have a hard time climbing them.

  2. …whereas I got creeped out even before we cleared the first paragraph and *got* to the Committee. The whole “those who have wrongthink will be indoctrinated” thing…. *twitch*.

Of course, it depends a lot on what the range of acceptable opinions *covers*.

    1. The people who played the original French version of In Nomine were always fascinated with what we did with it, in a horrified sort of way. I mean, there’s just so much you can do with this setting, if you can just manage to take it seriously. As I used to enjoy pointing out on the boards: in the canonical IN world, the phrase ‘secular humanism’ is a hysterical joke in Angelic, right up there with ‘Darwinian evolution’ and ‘relative morality.’

      1. …and the folks in charge on the angelic side have not significantly altered their opinions on what constitutes the moral good for the last 4000 years. Whatever it is, and whoever you are, it *probably* has some pretty severe divergences from whatever it is that *you* think is the moral good *now*.
