I almost guarantee that the author is female, and probably at least 30. This is *absolutely* a case of “I built up this romantic fantasy in my head with the celebrity when I thought they were single and therefore available (to me) but it turns out that they are not single, and now my dreams are crushed and everything is ruined and I feel so betrayed.” The sharp dig in on the age of the woman he hooked up with is also pretty telling.
