I have to admit: things like WILDWOOD scratch my spooky itch. There’s a horror aesthetic out there that I can almost articulate, one that’s simultaneously rural, agricultural, and elaborate. A hidden mythos, filled with Things that do their dread business out of the sight of mortal man. Not unbeatable, by any means; but possessed of its own dread power.
I hope to get at least one novel out of it before I die.
…Anyway, WILDWOOD looks cool.
I’m up for this.
First, I like the premise.
Second, their previous work has been good. (Kubo and the Two Strings in particular was outstanding.)
Last, I’m kind of digging the animation style.
Remind me of the Mythago Wood books. Some of Robert Holdstock’s best in my opinion.
