The FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS teaser trailer.

It looks fine. Which is a hell of a thing to say about a Marvel movie, but we live in a bleak age. Also: we as a people are very, very bad at making Fantastic Four movies. Having something that’s maybe pretty okay is arguably an important milestone in our cultural development.

  1. Am I the only person who can’t figure out why Pedro Pascal is suddenly in every movie? Is it because he is the same bland fellow in every role? Is he the vanilla extract of the cinema world? They can just plug him in anywhere and they know the lines will be competently delivered, and he won’t upstage the other actors. Gone are the days of the Bogart movie, or the Hepburn movie, or the Bette Davis movie. Welcome to the days of green screens, CGI and Pedro Pascal.

  2. I’m a huge Ebon Moss-Bachrach fan but I did not like this version of the Thing at all.

  3. The overall vibe was right.

The voice for Ben was wrong. If The Thing’s voice isn’t deep and gravelly, something is wrong.

WTF is with the casting Gomez Addams as Reed Richard?

  4. I don’t hate it which is new for current Marvel. Not sure I want to go to a theater for it though.
