The final, should have been red-banded, Toy Story 4 trailer.

Still doing that “this gets really damned creepy when you think about it too long” thing that the Toy Story movies do. But I guess that’s why people are still watching them, at this point. That little frisson of horror you get when you realize that the trailer flat-out killed a guy, and then showed you the aftermath.

Shocker: John Wick 4 greenlit for 2021.

Spoiler alert: this is not actually shocking. Well, OK: I was expecting them to kill off John Wick in this movie, so I am surprised in that regard. But aside from that: “Following the record setting box office for the franchise this weekend with John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Lionsgate has announced that Keanu Reeves will return once again as the eponymous assassin with John Wick: Chapter 4 set to arrive on May 21, 2021.”

No, not shocking at all. This movie promises to make Lionsgate a good hunk of change, and I hear that it’s good! Won’t know until tomorrow; I was going to go see it Friday, but that day turned out to be a half-day for school. But I can go catch a matinee in the morning.

Yes, I should be very thankful for my ability to do that.

The Song of Fire and Ice Bundle of Holding. If you’re inclined to, you know, make Game of Thrones come out right after all, or something*. Certainly waiting for the author to finish it isn’t exactly a viable long-term plan…

…OK, OK, I’ll be good. I was kind of upset myself that we’re never getting an actual ending to War Against the Chtorr. I should be nicer to people who are in a similar bind now.

Kung Fury 2 greenlit, with Arnie and Fassbender.

Well then.

Kung Fury 2 is officially a go! The full-length feature sequel to the beloved and insane 2015 short has been in the works for a few years now. It’s been more than a minute since we heard any updates on the project. Now we have word out of Cannes that star and director David Sandberg has not only secured financing for the movie, but that it’s locked in a production start date for this summer, with both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Fassbender confirmed to star.

Tweet of the Day, We Can Talk About Who Should Play Terry edition.

But damn if I wouldn’t watch Michael Keaton tackle this role. And don’t tell me ‘Birdman.’ From what I heard, there wasn’t nearly enough near-future geriatric ass-kicking in that flick.

Dammit, now I’m pissed that there’s not going to be a live-action Batman Beyond flick.

Robert Pattinson to sparkle as Batman?

Well, then: “Sources tell Variety that Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to play “The Batman” in Matt Reeves’ forthcoming superhero film, which hits theaters June 25, 2021. While sources say it’s not yet a done deal, Pattinson is the top choice and it’s expected to close shortly. Warner Bros. had no comment.” (Via Facebook)
