This cold is *finally* ebbing.

Moral of the story: don’t ever start smoking. I haven’t had a cigarette in almost twenty years and I still get colds that can last forever. I get to deal with that for the next twenty years, too. Hopefully we’ll have full cellular regeneration before then.

…I dunno, man. Things click, technologically, and all of a sudden we have this entire civilization where people make casual video calls and everybody’s walking around with high-resolution cameras in their pockets. Which is one major reason why everything is weird right now.

Anyway, getting back to a normal schedule, hopefully.

Posting is gonna be horked today.

Nothing horrible, but my youngest has been down with something all week, and I gotta take him to the pediatrician (schools get antsy about that, these days). I think that when I was his age the same set of symptoms would have meant a single day home sick, but that was changing even before Covid. I don’t even disagree with the switch in attitudes, really. I might have gotten fewer colds if kids were expected to stay home when they were hacking up a lung*.

But it does change your daily routine.

*He is not actually hacking up a lung.

I would love for this cold to be over…

…especially since the bus came for both the kids today! And there’s no appliance guy scheduled for tomorrow! And it was great out this weekend! …And I have pretty much a summer cold now.

Blegh. Well, at least it’ll be nice again on Thursday and Friday. That’s something.

It’s going to be a cold winter, folks.

Yikes. This largely means, mind you, that my kids’ school systems will be dropping school days at the drop of a hat, or more accurately, snowflake. On the other hand, more excuses for stews and all-day roasts. on the gripping hand, fewer annoying articles about global warming until spring…
