COYOTE VS. ACME back on the menu?

Might be, might be: “It looks like Warner Bros. may finally be ready to sell Coyote vs. Acme, the live-action/animated hybrid film that was shelved as part of the studio’s infamous cost-cutting spree.” It’d be going for fifty million to Ketchup Entertainment, which bought another Looney Tunes movie earlier so presumably they know what they’ve signed up for.

Does this exhumation from the vaults give hope for BATGIRL fans? Are there still BATGIRL fans, after all this time? Tune in next week to find out!

PS: I still expect this flick to demonstrate that there was a reason it got thrown in the vault to begin with, but I might be wrong.

Wow. COYOTE VS. ACME must REALLY suck. Or the WB is doing something REALLY hinky.

Or… both? I guess it could be both: “After Warner Bros. scrapped the completed Looney Tunes movie Coyote vs. Acme for no reason, it was reported that it would be shopped around to other studios. Well, The Wrap is reporting that WB has rejected other studios’ offers to purchase the movie…” Never mind Geektyrant’s editorializing: that fine website’s cheerleading for films makes me look like a hyper-critical cinematic snob*.

I’m gonna commit a little heresy on that scrapped Wile E. Coyote movie.

I suspect that, should the COYOTE VS. ACME movie be successfully shopped to another distributor as per that story, it’s gonna end up bombing so hard Wile E. Coyote* is gonna need to get a new sign. Don’t ask me why I suspect that, because I’m not quite sure. Maybe because usually it turns out that studios bury movies for a reason? I mean, sure, the director thinks it’s great, but he’s going to think that.

Also: it’s apparently going to be a courtroom comedy. …I am deleting any further remarks, on advice of counsel.
