Honestly, between this and the Screen Pitch video there’s no need to watch CRUELLA itself. And that kind of bugs me a little. This could have been a fun movie about battling fashionistas in Mod London, if only they didn’t have to get stuck with the Mouse’s expectations.
There are mega-spoilers, mostly (I suspect) so that you don’t actually have to watch CRUELLA after this. Not that you had to in the first place, obviously. But if you needed to know the plot for some reason, well: here you go.
Via @BrianFaughnan, who is correct: CRUELLA does seem off. It might just be the trailer — or it might be that it’s kind of weird to make movies about villains. I’m also struck by the problem that it’s much easier to make a character unattractive in an animated movie than live-action. I absolutely get that Emma Stone didn’t want to lose seventy-five pounds and wear a too-loose skin suit, but… actually, somebody’s already summed it up:
