I was wondering why I hadn’t seen much on Swamp Thing before, until I realized that it’s for their DC streaming service.
It has… potential. Although it’s fairly obvious why DC decided to release it in-house, rather than shop it around. The combination of ‘slightly obscure’ and ‘straight up creeping horror’ is maybe a bit much for the networks to sustain, and they’ve got an existing platform to use. So that may work out for them.
Will I see Swamp Thing? Only if I subscribe to the DC Universe service. I’ve yet to be convinced that I should.
