I will be doing an Author Talk with @frightreads on April 6th.
FrightReads Book Fest is a Maryland book festival that I’ve been attending for the last two years. It’s a lot of fun, and very vendor-friendly: I sell a decent number of books, and get to meet a bunch of other indy writers there. It’s pretty successful, too. This year, FrightReads has been expanded to the whole weekend (Sept 30 – October 1st), and they’re coming up with other ways to expand their reach.
One of these is their Author Talks program, in which they, you know, talk to an author via Facebook Live. I’ll be on it on April 6th, from 7 PM until whatever. The link is here: be sure to check it out, on the day!

The table fees went up… and down. They went up in the sense that I’m paying more; but Fright Reads 2023 will be a two day event (September 30 – October 1, 2023). It’s the same venue as before (Benfield Sports Center in Millersville, MD), but if they have comparable foot traffic both days that they did at the last one, I should do even better out of the deal.
Obviously, this means that I need to have GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND ready by September, if I didn’t have enough reasons already. I might… also need to get another project finished by then. I’m debating on whether to do it, because it’d involve doing a Kickstarter to get the funds in time. I don’t have to decide this month, though.
Fright Reads went well!
A long day, but a productive one. Sales were very good, at least by my standards; I’m not entirely sure what ultimate success will look like, but I moved a decent amount of product and made a decent profit. Interestingly, though, neither TINSEL RAIN nor DUTIES sold at all. I think that’s because I was selling a lot of ‘try these, and see if you like my stuff’ books, so I do have some hope of moving both of the above books in the next few weeks. Something to look forward to.
And now I’m going to collapse, thanks.

Fright Reads tomorrow! Come to it! Buy my books!
At last, at last. Got the books packed before the rain hit, which is nice. Will get up and go in time to make the 11 AM check in, God willing and no flood advisories for the I-95 Corridor.

I dunno if I’ll see any of you there; but if I do, be sure to buy a book!
Huh. Ticket Scalpers/Scammers targeting Fright Reads.
Said miscreants are charging twenty bucks for five buck tickets that aren’t even sold out (scalping), or haven’t actually been purchased (scamming). Remember, folks: as the article says, buy your tickets via EventBrite. Or just show up at Fright Reads on Saturday.
