Off to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Early reviews are that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is good, but it’s also a sequel so keep that in mind. But that’s fine. I’m still gonna go and have a good time.
And, hey! Maybe the memory that I could have sworn I ordered for one-day delivery but it turned out to be two will be here when I get back! Then I can just stare at the boxes all weekend… I know, I know. If this is the worst thing that happens to me this weekend then I’m having a good weekend.
So, they got David Hasselhoff to sing for Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
It lacked only this.
Every time I think that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has hit the They Went There Ceiling, they up their game. At this point, there’s not much lef… no. Wait. There’s somewhere they could go for GotG 3. There’s somebody they could cast.
Quite obvious, really.

I think that part of the reason that Marvel’s been succeeding in these movies in general and this series in particular is that they’ve internalized that these are comic book movies. And that’s not just in the plots or the characterizations, either: the colors are kind of important, too. Compare the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 palette…

And then there’s the latest “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” trailer.
This one I’m more comfortable liking on sight.
If they stick with the kind of big, kind of cheerfully messy, and kind of indifferent to whether or not a particular Good Bit looks too goofy attitude that we saw in the first movie, things should be fine. Shoot, I don’t even really care about the plot. Yeah, go get that Space Macguffin. What I care about is that everybody have fun while doing it.
