Carolyn McCarthy (D) makes empty threat against Barack Obama.

She’s also politicizing dead kids, but then again that’s what gun control advocates do. From Politico:

In the wake of the deadly Connecticut school shooting, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy said she has warned the White House [in the past] “the gloves are off” if President Obama fails to act on the issue.

“I said, ‘Jack, I know the president is going through an election and I’m telling you after the election I’m coming out full force,’” McCarthy told POLITICO Friday. “I was just giving the White House a heads up that the gloves are off on my side and I was going to do everything I possibly could. … If that meant embarrassing everybody, that’s what I would do.”

#rsrh Nanny Bloomberg calls for police anarchy.

You know, I understand that a few asses out there actually seem to have thought that Mayor Mikey Bloomberg would make a good fit for the Republican ticket. Thankfully, Bloomberg seems to have decided to shut that door. And the door for the Democratic party too.

Ed Morrissey’s response is pretty much mine; the next time I see him, I’ll have to ask Ed how me managed not to pepper his text with several appropriate, pungent, Anglo-Saxon expletives.

President to doom gun control.

President Obama’s going to be starting a push for “gun control” next month, sayeth insiders – which is a statement that would worry me more if the President hasn’t been a bit of a jinx at using the bully pulpit up to this point.  I’m trying – and failing – to come up with something where his “assistance” has been a net positive: all of the Democrats’ dubious legislative successes have been on the Congressional level thus far, and when it comes to skill at advocacy Obama, well, sucks. One wonders what the man hopes to accomplish.

And no, I don’t know what the heck “gun control” has to do with the economy, either.
