I do have a larger story in “Assembling the Party,” actually. I even know how it’d going down. I’m just trying to decide whether there’s an actual book in it.

Patreon Microfiction: ‘Zero-Sum School of Magery.’
‘Zero-Sum School of Magery’ simply isn’t very nice. Sorry about that. It happens.
Patreon microfiction: “Fifty-Fifty.”
The funny part about “Fifty-Fifty” is that the scenario it describes could absolutely happen in real life. Well, not all of it, sure. But how often do you fumble it on the first try?
Patreon Microfiction: “The Last Lament of Rausvosakys.”
So, yeah, I was kind of in a weird mood when I wrote “The Last Lament of Rausvosakys.” The kind of mood where I assumed that more people would get the joke. Looking at it now with clearer eyes, I don’t know why I thought that. It’s pretty obscure, honestly.
Patreon microfiction: “Tally-ho!”
I feel that ‘Tally-ho!’ will — assuming that we ever get FTL, galactic civilizations, and space wars — prove prophetic. “We never, ever do X in this tactical situation.” :humans look at each other: “…REALLY?”
Hey. Tell me I’m wrong.
Patreon Microfiction: “None So Black.”
I readily admit that Vantablack fascinates me. The more you look at it, the more you can see the subtleties in the more ‘regular’ shades of black. Or something like that: anyway, ‘None So Black’ will hopefully prove amusing.
Patreon Microfiction: Folklore vs. Myths.
Regarding ‘Folklore vs. Myths:’ I’d write more in this vein (heh), except that I’d probably just be tracing over Terry Pratchett if I tried. I’m not saying that I couldn’t stake out (double heh) new territory in that particular field, but why duplicate effort? …And I’m not going to come up with another vampire pun, sorry. I was pushing it with the second one.
Patreon Microfiction: ‘Four More Years.’
Oh, there’s absolutely a ‘real’ short story in ‘Four More Years.’ As soon as I can figure out how to apply the zinger properly. Or whether to just set the new story in the same world as this one.
Patreon Microfiction: “A Favor.”
You can always tell when I watch certain movies, hey? Although in this case I decided that the hero of “A Favor” might not be quite that noble, after all. The temptation not to be would be strong.
Patreon Microfiction: ‘Inheritance.’
Although I freely admit that there are tons of ethics questions still being raised in ‘Inheritance.’ Possibly even harder ones than the ones involving black magic. But that’s not the mage’s problem, is it?
