Another playtest tonight.

Hopefully. It’s snowing again, but I’ve only had one cancellation so far and that was just because he’s down with a cold anyway. I certainly hope people are showing up, if for no other reason than I’ve had a pot of chili simmering all afternoon and it’s far too much for one person to eat.

Anyway, light posting and all that.

Good tabletop playtest this evening.

Got some old friends to come over, eat sandwiches, and whack on the game with sticks.  Hopefully we’ll be able to finish it up next week, or the week after that.  Either way, I’m still going to run an online playtest some time in February.

Also, and not unrelatedly: I’m freaking exhausted.

Just to check on something…

…there’s no real interest here in playtesting the Jane Austen RPG, right?  It’s OK if there isn’t: my meatspace gaming group* is pretty pumped about trying it. We’re going to write up the characters this gaming session and try it out the next one. And, to be honest, I would have had to squeeze some time out of other stuff to get an online playtest session going. The deadline for feedback is in a month (this is a pretty tight playtest schedule, yes).

But I never actually asked. Continue reading Just to check on something…

I may be scheduling some playtest sessions in August.

WashingCon is coming up, and it looks like I will be doing at least one game (the Dragon Age RPG), and quite possibly another (Timewatch) if I can talk myself into running myself doubly ragged. Which I may very well do, if only to get myself out of the house for the full weekend. Gotta think about it; but if I do run a couple of games I’m going to want to do an online playtest first, to make sure that it works in a four hour chunk.  I’ll remind folks about it as we get closer to September, but if you’re DC-area and want to get in on a game, well, WashingCon is also (and primarily) a highly impressive board game convention. Some of all y’all might be down with that.

Welp. Got the Fall of Delta Green playtest feedback report out.

In case you were wondering what I was doing today.  End of month is always fun, isn’t it?  Particularly when you’re facing those subtly oh-that’s-easy deadlines that suddenly sprout teeth and start staring at your trachea.  Whee!

Still, this is how the industry advances.  We all must do our part, yes?  Yes.

Moe Lane

PS: Thanks again to everybody who played.

Second call for Fall of Delta Green playtesters, this Saturday night.

8 PM Eastern time, this Saturday; we’ll be doing it via Google Hangouts. No prior experience with GUMSHOE or Cthulhu required, but bear in mind that it’s a horror game.  You’ll be provided with characters, one-page summaries of how to roll and whatnot, and playtest copies of the rules.  GUMSHOE uses six-sided dice, so make sure you have some.

Usual contact techniques: here, on Twitter (@ogiel23), or moe-at-moelane-dot-com.  Those of you who have already signed up should get an email from me tomorrow.

Call for playtesters for Fall of Delta Green (second play-through).

This one will be for next weekend: Friday or Saturday night, whichever one I can get players for.  8 PM Eastern time, probably a three hour session.  I ran it once already last weekend – all hail Constant Readers Brian Swisher and nicklevi86 for participating – and I’d like to get at least one more session in before the March 31st deadline.  I will supply character sheets and cheat sheets: people unfamiliar with GUMSHOE rules are welcome. It is a horror game, so fair warning there.

Contact me via comments here, on Twitter, my Contact link, or at moe-at-moelane-dot-com.

Last call for Fall of Delta Green playtest tonight.

If you’re interested, drop me a line in comments, Twitter me (@Ogiel23), use the contact email, or whatever else.  Starts at 8 PM Eastern, no previous knowledge of Delta Green or Call of Cthulhu or GUMSHOE needed. It’s a playtest: we’re kicking the tires and seeing how the adventure runs. No pressure.
