Greg Abbott Wheelchair Troofers. How charming.

As in, people who think that Texas gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott doesn’t REALLY need a wheelchair. Like Twitchy, I am hoping that this is just an example that, in a population of 300+ million, you’re going to find two abject idiots with the same delusion and an email account, but as I understand the current rules-set of the Democratic party Wendy Davis is required to own the aforementioned abject idiots. Moral of the story? What goes around, comes around.  Don’t like it? Don’t go around.

Also: I understand Glenn Reynolds‘ rueful head-shake over how far the Party of FDR has fallen, but I am compelled to note that FDR was forced to go to great lengths to conceal just how badly he had been crippled by polio.  Largely because he was (apparently justifiably) worried that being frank on that topic would hurt him with Democratic voters…

[Expletive deleted] 9/11 Troofer defaces “Liberty Leading the People.”

See, this is why we can’t have nice things:

A visitor to the Louvre’s newest extension, in northern France, has been detained after scrawling an inscription in marker on the famed canvas of Eugene Delacroix Liberty Leading the People.

According to Le Figaro newspaper, the woman wrote “AE911″ near the bottom of the canvas. The inscription stands for “Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth,” a group of individuals who believe George W. Bush is responsible for the collapse of the Twin Towrs in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001. The group comprises architects, engineers and demolition experts who believe there is empirical evidence to suggest 9/11 was an inside job.

This only encourages them.

On the other hand, her party does have a problem with this sort of thing, and I guess that she may need the campaign contributions for next year after all – so now would be a good time to reach out to the base.

Here’s how my very simple theory works: the common 9/11 truthers are – as a rule – unemployed, living at home, and nutritionally deficient due to a vigorously vegan diet. This gave them the free time, as well the depressed hostility (due to lack of animal protein) needed to plan the attacks. After the attacks, they were initially pleased that America mistakenly blamed bin Laden. But they also knew that, given time, after realizing the innocence of these young Islamic entrepreneurs, the scent of guilt would lead only to them.
