The live Weezer cover was not that great, until Weird Al showed up. Then it became great. I’m sorry to say that, but in your heart you know it’s true.
I don’t know if it became great when Weird Al showed up, or if it only became not bad. Maybe I am an uncultured cretin, but Weezer’s singer and band do not do justice to Africa, at least not live.
IDK, I thought it was an okay cover (and certainly didn’t stray very far from the original interpretation), but Weird Al certainly livened it up.

Weezer has never really been on my musical radar so I can’t really say how this compares with their other work.
Is there nothing Weird Al can’t do???
