Joshua Tree was certainly something. It provides a disproportionate share of the soundtrack to my high school years.

It was somewhat weird to spend a couple of years in the area where U2 holed up to write the album (and commune with the ghost of Gram Parsons). It was a bit surreal to keep running into things mentioned in the songs. (A place, high on the desert plain, where the streets have no name.)
