I was very tempted to put up the two Christmas songs that apparently may not be discussed in polite company now. I do need to go listen to them soon, so that I don’t feel the need to participate in those particular games. I don’t hate them, but they don’t call to me.
You know something? we’ll just do Never Gonna Give You Up. It’s not like the song’s all that bad.
Never Gonna Give You Up, Rick Ashley
Rick Ashley, musically, isn’t exactly inspired, but is okay. Easy listening / Adult contemporary isn’t my jam, but not everyone is ready for Robert Randolph,

As pop songs of that era go, this one is remarkably wholesome.
In this age, such things should be encouraged.
I’m guessing one of them is “Screech” by Mariah Carey, but what’s the other?
I’ve been told by friends in radio that the #1 Christmas song right now is actually Springsteen’s “Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town”
…. yeah, I try to avoid Christmas songs until Dec. 15th at the earliest. If pressed, I will happily pull out my own Christmas playlist:
“I’m Gonna Spend My Christmas With A Dalek”
“I Am Santa Claus”
“I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas”
“Mele Kalikimaka”
“Jingle Bells (Singing Dogs)”
“Dominic the Donkey”
“Little Saint Nick”
…. usually, that takes care of the problem until at least Pearl Harbor Day.
