Yeah, mixing it up a little tonight. My single favorite scene in the trilogy. Because I as I more or less said once, I always wanted to know what that looked like, and now I know.

“The front of the first éored roared like a breaker foaming to the shore…” Yeah, it’s a good ‘un.
Theoden really gets some of the best lines in the movie. For me, it’s a toss-up between the scene above and the riding out scene at Helm’s Deep.

Like many fans, I’ve read LOTR countless times, not annually as did Christopher Lee, but I pick it up often in the winter, and amazingly, Jackson didn’t step on my vision much and often enhanced it considerably.

I can’t say the same about The Hobbit films, other than the genius casting of Cumberbatch voicing Smaug, I would have preferred one tight boffo film.
